The Scepter Has Been Lifted

A Statement on the Liberation of Iran

  ·

For forty-seven years, the religious tyranny born of Khomeini's revolution has held the Iranian people hostage and waged an unrelenting campaign of terror across the globe. American blood has been spilled by their proxies in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen. American hostages were paraded before the world in 1979, and the chants of "Death to America" have echoed from Tehran's streets ever since — not from the hearts of ordinary Iranians, but from the lips of a theocratic regime that rules by fear, suppression, and murder.

Today, the scepter of power has been lifted, and the dogs of war have been loosed.

The United States and Israel have struck at the head of the serpent — targeting the very leadership that has orchestrated decades of bloodshed, nuclear ambition, and the funding of terrorist organizations from Hamas to Hezbollah. This is not aggression. This is a reckoning long overdue.

I stand in full support of the liberation of the Iranian people. The men and women of Iran — a civilization of poets, scholars, and builders stretching back millennia — deserve to breathe free. They deserve a nation unburdened by mullahs who wrap tyranny in religious garments and call it righteousness. The brave Iranians who have taken to the streets in protest, who have risked imprisonment and death for the simple desire to live with dignity, now have before them a window that may not open again.

President Trump has offered the Iranian people a last chance: take hold of your own destiny. Liberate yourselves. Live in peace.

To the men and women of Iran's military and security forces: your oath was to protect your nation and your people — not a dying regime. Stand with your countrymen. The ship is sinking. Do not go down with it.

There is much blood to account for. The Marines in Beirut. The soldiers lost to Iranian-supplied IEDs in Iraq. The victims of October 7th, enabled and funded by Tehran's hand. The score is deep, and it is long, and it has been carried in American memory for nearly half a century.

May this be the day the chanting stops — not by force alone, but by the rising voice of a free Iranian people who choose life over death, peace over terror, and liberty over the yoke of theocratic oppression.

God speed to our men and women in uniform. God protect the innocent. And may the ancient nation of Iran find its way home to freedom.
